Do I need a thimble at my clip tie in point?

I tied this off today and thought... hmmm I wonder if this will eventually wear the loop. Do I need a thimble at these triple fisherman's loops?

A side benefit would also be a bigger radius for the bend... not sure if that will matter much.

If you fall on that safety hard enough to break the rope even without a thimble, it will still hurt you a lot before the rope ever breaks. You might as well hope that it breaks rather than tear you in half with sudden stop syndrome.

I have never worn out a rope where it meets the rings, be it carabiner, belt ring, or safety snap. You should expect to wear out the rope in other ways first.
