Im asking for a person who owns an older stump grinder that doesn't have a remte now. Im mostly askng to check to see if its only possible to add a remote to hydraulics in the first place.

Possible?? Yes, anything is possible if you are willing to pay for it.
Practical and economical? NO NO NO.
As the Carlton folks told me, the remote control machines are constructed in a different configuration from the frame up.
Your older machine would need a lot of electrical/hydraulic control equipment, new framework and attachment points for all the new equipment, and who knows what else.

like the post above, possible yes. but for what it will cost . just go buy a grinder with a remote. easiest way to say it

yes, it is possible to add remote to a older machine. I spent a good bit of time last year getting the info to do that very thing to my Rayco. I also was going to add another hydr. motor for better handling. I also on a small machine shop, so I had what was needed to make any needed parts. What stopped me was the cost, a little over $10,000 to make the switch over, not including my time. I ended up buying a used Carlton SP 4012 with remote and now that I've gone through this machine (it was a very poorly maintained machine) I'm glad I purchased it.

I would recommend you find a good used machine with remote.
