Alright got a Sachs what I thought was a already 123 but when it arrived instantly found it to be the cut off 309 what's needed to convert it to the chainsaw pretty new to the dolmars any chance the old 144 cylinder and piston would work as well to hop it up I know the 133/143 would work just curious about the 144

No, 144 will not work.

You'll need oiler, worn, oil lines clutch drum etc. basically everything from
Oil seal all the way out. Drill oil passage and install.

You need a 143 top end line these to increase power. 123/309's didn't have as beefy a bottom end as 133s/143/143mx so yea... Lots of work there.

Alright ya was assuming I'd need the oil pump at least, guess it'll be in the project line til I get the parts around off to the saw shop now lol

I will warn you early that you need a puller and the right size metric bolts to pull the clutch off. It's not a stihl or husky design. I got a friend to make me one.

Also you will need to be vary careful pulling the clutch and flywheels on this model. They have hollow tipped crank snouts just like the 152/153. It is very easy to use a tapered center bolt and brake a piece of the crank snout off!!!

Thanks for the heads up on that did they ever have a puller made back in the day for this I have an old jonsered dealer that used to sell Sachs back in the day that would probably have one if so

Yes Dolmar would have issued the tools to the dealers to work on the saws.

Ok thanks actually for the hassle of it I just ended up buying the 123 jon1212 had on the trading post and I'll just use the 309 for parts but appreciate your input still fairly new into the older dolmars mostly been a jonsered guy but slowly going into other brands dolmar has always been an interest to me as my uncle has two 166s that he used to race/ used in the woods he fires them up about once a year and the sound is just awsome hoping I'll be able to buy one off him someday
