Wayne 12T318 - Fast but ugly chips

My chuck and duck's chips are 3-4 inches long which are probably "factory" for my machine? But, I want more mulch size pieces.
The manual says I can regulate chip size 'The bed knife is adjustable vertically with or without the bed plate. Horizontally with the bed plate to obtain the rate of feed and size of chip desire' But it doesn't say how.

The bed knife should be adjustable if not worn on all edges. There should be two eye bolts which will help you adjust the anvil to the knife. Most chipper manufacturers recommend that the knives should be about 1/16" clearance from the anvil to the knives. If the anvil is rounded off like a table edge, you will need a new one. Adjusting the anvil to the knives is usually a two man job. Remember to turn the drum in the opposite direction when checking for clearancve as you may damage the knife edge or the anvil when turning in the normal direction.

I hope this helps.
