The pump went out on my dump trailer. I load the trailer pretty heavy and I think the pump couldn't take the abuse. Any recommendations for a a good pump? I called my local trailer shop and they only had one for sale.

I often thought of putting my firewood splitter on the Toung of a dump trailer and patching the valve to the dump trailer to eliminate the batt and electric pump, I have a spx 3000 psi pump on my fuso think it was 480 at hydaulic supply here in SA, The pto would have hung down to low with the Jap tranny and Adapter, but it has held up since 05 but the sissor is real heavy has a 8 inch piston so doesnt load the pump up at all,

Have you checked Graingers etc for a repuild kit? Most pumps are not too bad to rebuild.

I ended up buying a new one from international hydraulics. According to the guy at the local trailer shop "they go out every once in a while" I will look into rebuilding the old one and keeping it around as a spare.

Do you know what goes out in them? It seems the solenoid is kicking it then nothing.

There are assorted little three cent "o" rings and seals that usually go bad, if the thing is turning it usually is a quick fix.
