Anyone have experience with dust suppression systems on chippers? I saw one on a Woodsman for sale by California Tree Equipment. Looks like water gets misted in probably. It sure would be nice to have less dust when chipping dry brush. Anyone put there own system on a chipper?

Dust suppression is a pretty nifty option to have anytime dust is an issue. We have Tan Oak here which has this really nasty frass on the leaves. It will chock you out in minutes if you don't wet it down.
I wish I had dust suppression back when I was on the job.
Anyway the system on the Woodsman is pretty simple and effective. It simply sprays a mist into the chipping chamber as you good. All the parts are easily replaceable and rather inexpensive.

Several years back, when Morbarks had a dust problem, we installed several systems on customers chippers, basically just a water tank/pump/controller/and sprayers, it got the job done, somewhat. Now that the fan impellers on the chipper drums have been improved we dont have much of a dust issue. It would be very easy to piece together a water spray dust suppression system on your own for a fraction of the cost of a "kit".
