well this aint what u wanted but i just adjusted mine with an tach.. i didnt take off the limiters. just kept on adjusting to get richer in the l . then adjusted the h too lean so she would be weak. and went for power from there. i could leave it in cut on
big stuff with rite smart o pressure before i could get it dn below 9500..
she seemed to like it there.. mine i believe is only tacking about 11750.
no load.. which aint important to me .. but mite help u find the sweet spot..
just setting at no load like that wont do any good unless u got the low set rite.
im workin on it..good luck
edit i just realised u said christmas..
take it easy on the lean untill shes broke in good.

turn a drywall screw into the little hole in the center. they should pop right out. they definately need to come out. they are way lean from the factory. same as stihl, and probly all the rest.

mmm, they must have changed the design on 'em. mines a '98, and i never had a problem with the screws moving around. i think i would try a drop of green(low strength) loctite before i buggered up the threads. don't they have a tension spring and o-ring on 'em? it is a good little saw. i grab mine for anything that can be cut with a circular saw, brush clearing, piano slicing, u name it.
