I found an Echo cs-3900 at a yard sale this morning for $5 and figured i couldn't go wrong, but not so sure now. Someone had put pure 2 stoke oil in the gas tank and the choke pull is broken off. HLS does not even list it for parts, but ereplacementparts has the choke rod for $12 plus shipping, so probably $20. Then a carb kit from ebay for $10-$15. And it is a 30 cc saw, though it feels solid and it has spark. Anyone know anything about this saw?

I'm wondering if the saw is worth more parted out than whole running. I could spend $30-$40 on throttle rod and carb kit and maybe sell it for $100. Or part it out and maybe net the same $70 or more without trying to fix it. I'm 75 and I already have 3 saws, 40,45, and 50 cc which will do anything I need until I decide that I'm too old to be using such a dangerous tool. But the fact that there are almost no used parts on Ebay, makes me wonder how many of these are still out there. In fact I just checked Ebay fro sold items and there were 2 whole saws that went for under $100, plus shipping, and a parts saw that sold for $5 plus $15 shipping so I don't think there is much market for it in running or "for parts" condition
