I am on like my fourth handle. Very poor construction. Wondering if anyone has found a solution? Thanks in Advance ...

Huh, I broke my original one which lasted 3 years then bought a replacement which broke in a couple of weeks. My third one is holding strong but it definitely seamed like a part failure. The chain brake on my 590 has a very strong snap, it felt like that might be too strong and breaking the plastic tab. I wonder if you could turn the tension down on the brake action, if my third one goes I’ll see what’s in there.

"I wonder if you could turn the tension down on the brake action"

I thought of that as well but the only way I could think of was to weaken the clutch band. Seems to defeat the purpose of a clutch brake..

Definitely don’t want to do that, I was thinking there might be a screw or something but I haven’t dug into it more.

It’s also very possible that there’s a bad run of brake handles out there, especially If we all have had this issue in the past couple of months. The replacement of mine that broke came from Amazon and the good one came from a reputable online dealer. Amazon has had plenty of counterfeit items on there. Its possible a batch of fakes or even factory rejects made it into the Amazon inventory system.

Is anyone still in the warranty period and had luck going that route for replacement? 5 year consumer, 1 year commercial?

I just bought another cs590 yesterday. Already registered it just in case. My other one was a bargain find at home Depot and I didn't have the required numbers.

It's a possibility. The three replacement handles I bought from Amazon lasted about a month. The original was well over a year. I would imagine many people have complained to echo. Surprised they haven't made a change considering it's a safety feature. Open themselves up to lawsuits.
