I've got an old Echo 500 VL chainsaw that the plug wire is brittle and the terminal at the plug will not stay tight. I tried to repair the terminal but the wire is so brittle that it will no longer stay in the wire. This wire appears to have metal strands for the core and I can't see how sticking the terminal into the wire keeps it in contact. When I push the terminal back into the wire it is really loose in there and I'm curious of the plug wire can be replaced. I know the ignition coil is not available for this old saw but can the plug wire be removed from the coil and be replaced? I've got it down, but I can't tell how the wire is held into the coil. This old wore is so hard and brittle it has no flexibility and needs replaced, if it can be. Read an old thread about this problem with a Husky but mine is an old Echo that I like for small trees or limbs.
