i just put an elasto start handle on my 075, i wonder how long itll last. anyone else try them on larger saws?

I got one on my 064 85cc and it does ok, Might try one on my 076 when I get around to putting it back together.

ill give mine a try, but it looks like its gonna pull apart on my 075, of course i have no decomp valve on it so it takes a little pull to start the old girl. i thought about using a four finger handle off a four wheeler, but ill try the elastostart first.

Try pulling less agressively and let the Elasto Start work the way it is supposed to. The elastic contraction is supposed to help you but if you`ve pulled so hard and aggressively that the rope is just stretched out all the time before immediately letting it recoil, it can`t work. I am assuming that you used a large diameter cord appropriate for the 075.

From what I've seen with repairs in the shop, the grip mechanism which is where the trick parts are, have not been a problem. The rope still has typical wear and failures as all ropes do. Most elasto systems have the special rope with knobs available separate so the grip can be reused since it doesn't seem to fail.
