There are a few companies who have a bucket for their crane. I had one on mine, but rarely used it.

And who is going to test it for electrical conductivity? If you use it for tree work will it have to be tested twice a year?
 
The electrical requirement only applies if you actually use it near energized conductors. I have never seen a crane that was dialectric to begin with.

I can't think of a justifcation for buying one unit just to work on jobs that are not near electric lines and a seperate unit for jobs near electric lines.
 
Geo, think of it as a crane you happen to be able to stick a bucket on now and then. So, basically, a crane. Apart from the reach, I can't see the point either.

Sold my crane, although it did get some use. Not enough to justify the expense of actually owning one though. Cheaper to sub it out that great once in awhile.

Did you read the load range for use as a crane?
