Some months back milled out English Elm Logs didn't look like much from the outside but the nice pattern inside was unexpected.
The owner is extending the house and the fact it had many grubs eating away it it causing branches to drop.
These are two of the branches, the trunk was 5 meters in diameter.
Unfortunately alot of the timber was burnt before I got there, am hoping to go back over Christmas/New year to mill out a few more. This time I get to take a few slabs home.
First attempt at linking photos so if it does not work will have another go
Really need to get that log lifter built, if Australia ever stops catching on fire or being pelted by golf ball size hail stones from above might get something done
Managed to get two logs miller out.....
this is one of several found inside, any idea what they turn into....besides fat grubs
