CAN SOMEONE TELL ME IF EUCO GROWS OF THE STUMP WHEN CUT DOWN,AND WHATS IT LIKE TO CLIMB, (AS IT BRITTLE ETC) OH IF YOU GET A HARD FROST AS IN -5 TO -20 FOR A MONTH IN WINTER DO THEY HAVE THE TENDACY TO DIE, I WILL BE GRATEFUL FOR ALL ADVICE, THANKS THE BUFFALO:laugh:

Hi. I know that euco will grow back from the stump after you've dropped a frost damaged tree - never dropped a good one but i guess that it might. Eucos are not all the same with regards to frost. The wife has a fine gunni - not seen any similar around here. she grew it from seed bought from snowdonia (Wales ,UK) and it has prospered in an exposed site in which locally sourced stuff has died. Never tried climbing it but, it's all smalll springy little branches so, not much to work with. You have to top it off quite low to keep the chubby juvenile leaf - hope some of this helps. Malcolm

Stump sprouting is a big problem in euc forests. The stumps need to sprayed within minutes of falling the tree or making a fresh cut. The best way seems to be to make a fresh cut and an X on the stump with a saw while the qualified applicator is standing there waiting. Otherwise go back a year later and sucker bust with an axe. Wear a face shield type helmet. Using a pulaski throws pieces upward with violence! Try to take the bark too.
