So today i'm using the 3120xp with a 42" Cannon on it and attacking a 5' Elm from both sides for about an hour and finally get it bucked up (only about 20 feet of the trunk is that size, the rest was cut by someone else) and go to pick up the MS660 and think "#### this thing is a feather", which I never think it is....so everything is relative I guess...:msp_wink:... funny how that works.

I still want to replace my old 660 with another one or a 395xp. However, I have the same thought when I switch from my 372xp to my MS261 or how much the 372 weighs when the order is reversed... LOL.

I had a 395 and switched to a 660 just because i used one someone had and kind of got hooked on the direct feel of it, meaning the anti-vibe isn't as good as the 395, but for me i only use the large saws on the felling of large trees or bucking up big'n's and the feel i had with the Stihl made it easier for me to read the cut...seldom will i go to towards vibration:D...that and putting on a Brazilian dual port muffler cover and tuning it made it shine!! If i was one of the Westcoasties and using a 100cc saw every day i'd lean towards a Husky, if service was good in the area.

PS-I'm using a 346NE and am looking at getting the 261 and sending it to Snelling for a tune, how do you like it?

Well, I would agree on those points other than I've yet to fell a tree with a 395 so I can't comment on the balance or sight lines in when felling. I like the idea of less vibes and better oiling, but the 660 did have a very 'direct' solid but not bulky feel to it. I miss it. Unfortunately when it burned up so did my 039 as well as 346xp and 55 Huskies. I also lost a lot of other misc cutting gear and 2 firearms. I owed 9k on the truck and lost 7k in tools and firearms. I cried. I say "my" saws, but in truth they were a joint venture between my Father and I as we have been cutting together for the last 26 years so all tools are shared since we're only about 30 miles apart...

With that as the segway, I miss my 346 dearly. even more so since half of the time I didn't get to run it as my Father would steal it from me when we were cutting!!!:censored: No matter what was cut, 'pee-wee' got to play and that saw bucked and felled a lot of decent sized trees. It had scalpel-like handling and reflexes. The only reason why I have the 261 now, i that was on sale after I lost the saws, there weren't and NOS 346xp's available and I was torn on the 550xp.

The 261 has grown on me considerably. It is smooth, has better torque than my old 346 and feels a lot more solid/substantial. I miss the 346 but both are fine tools and I would not hesitate to buy another of either model. From what I've seen of Brad's tuning, it should be nasty. Mine make make it to either his or Randy's shop to get an 'attitude' adjustment...

Holy cripes! That was a hell of a loss...sorry for your misfortune. :msp_scared:
I'm glad you still get to cut with your father, relish it, mines moved to FLA and he's the one who got me started...hmm..he may have a good idea, come Jan/Feb that is...nah..fug it i love the cold!! I put on my arctic carhartt overalls, mickey mouse boots and sit in the lawn chair with a beer when it's -12+ degrees below just to see if i can finish the beer before it freezes!!:msp_biggrin:

I do want to get near your way just to see a live game on that hallowed ground that is the Frozen Tundra!!!! I almost love the Packers as much as I love cutting wood with Dad...

I was listening to the radio and caught some tidbit about an old gal who was being courted by Curly and she's selling off her letters he wrote to her, for they figure, about 1k each, one has a mention of the '63 bowl game and his concerns, damn if i wasn't thinking i got to get in on that auction!!
Love Curly! lol...

OK,
now back to saws...

Ya, basically you forget how friggen huge the 3120 is until wielding it for a little bit, and then everything is a "little saw", which is what i said to the guy helping load, "now give me the little saw"...lol...he's like "little, sure (with a smile)"
