Just noticed today that the intake boot pm my newly assembled 90% Farmertec MS200T has melted after 2-3 weeks of use. Not sure its what's causing it. Just using it for simple property maintenance work for half-day stretches, nothing extreme.
Only thing I did was use 518 to seal the boot, bot don't think that would cause any issues. Fuel mix is between 32:1 & 40:1. Everything is in the from fuel delivery to exhaust is Farmertec with exception of the carburetor.
One though is that its a quality control issue with the boot, but very curious if it could be some over heating issue at the combustion chamber.

Not on this particular saw, but melted intake boots are a relative common issue on off-brand engines.

I suspect the reason is poor quality control during the rubber mixing procedure, lowering the melting point of the material. I am honestly surprised it is still happening in 2018.

This kind of stuff makes Stihl very happy.

Add 200t intake to the list of junk Farmertec parts...
