What is everyones favorite knot to tie midline? Bowline on a bight, alpine butterfly? Something else? I use both of these and sometimes just a pile hitch but am looking for something thats a little easier to tie and still comes undone when needed to after being weighted.

For simplicity's sake, I typically revert back to the bowline. I've used it many times for pulling heavy loads with a truck and it always rolls right out without difficulty. I also don't have to think about how to tie it properly, even if it's been several months since I've tied it last.

Depending what I'm doing I start with a marlin spike, clove, nine-on-a-bight. It's been so long since I've done bo'lin-on-a-bight that I'd have to take a few minutes to work it out...then give up :D

Favourite = alpine butterfly, but most used = bowline on the bight. Just nice to have an arsenal to choose from and apply whats most suited to the application at the time.

Oooops nearly forgot the quick hitch for sending up lines so the poor little climbers with their cold hands can quickly release the line instead of fumbling with knots. Bless!!

i think i prefer the clove to the butterfly....comes undone easier
