Feedback on Vermeer SC502

Looking for another grinder, Have a 252, now looking for bigger machine for the big stumps. Has anybody run this one? How did it do? Been looking for awhile not having any luck finding any used ones close bye. Have a cemetary job coming up, 30 stumps going to take forever with my 252.

depending on your budget, you can get into an older 665a (65hp) for around $5k. That's what I run in addition to my 252 and I love the beast. I got mine with the deutz diesel but I believe it is more common with the wisconsin gas engine. Check out the tree trader magazine online - there's usually one or two to be found in the midwest.

I wouldn't buy anything with a Wisconsin Engine anymore. Parts are sky high. Your big grinder needs to be a diesel.

I have one and it does a real good job and i started with a 252 the 50 horse
diesel of the 502 is nice you will like it.

I have the 502A and am well pleased with it. Bought new in 2000 and has over 2400 hrs. on it.
