fertilizer for Evergreen Trees

I have always used 10-6-4 for fertilizing evergreens but is hard to fine. What else could I use ? Thanks

Would 1 test cover ~.5 acres or is it something that needs to be tested every so many feet?

I've always used whatever was cheapest at the hardware store, never paid attention to the numbers. They usually only carry 1 fertilizer for lawns that is made locally.
Same fertilizer makes it to the trees.

If I don't put down fertilizer each summer, my lawn will barely grow.
Like mowing once a month, if that, vs looking nice and mowing 2x a week when fertilized.

The trees I usually give a douche or two a summer with Miracle Grow.

I send samples to a lab. Spectrum Analytic is the one I use. Many, but not all, land grant schools (Extension services) offer soil sampling.
