Hey everyone

Got myself a used 353.
I have not done alot of work on these things.

So, looking down at the fuel vent/plug.

The IPL shows 2, a small and a larger one.
501 62 98-01(small one)
503 60 04-01 (large one)

Mine only has a small one, is the large on missing?
Seems to be a nice hole for it....which is empty.

See pictures, thanks for all help :)

I only spot a tiny lil filter in there, as above picture shows.

Any help?

It is leaking fuel slightly from the vent. So... Something must be up. Any tips?

another question comes to mind, how on earth do you get the "small" vent out, if replacement is needed? :reading:

They are pressed inside . Use a 3" screw to pull the vents out.
ah so you just drill a tiny screw into it and force it out, clever. Thanks :)

Not sure I have to get it out though, the saw works fine, but it does leak a tiny bit from that small plug/vent, and seeing as the larger one is missing. Might I be fine to just get the "large" plug and install it?

You might get away with just the outside one but I would order 2 of each just in case it don't work for you. Cheap enough. I personally like the older style with a rubber duckbill vent under the brass filter plug style.

And yes, use a sharp drywall or similar screw to remove them. It's what I have been using with success. I also recommend using a hand Phillips driver verses a drill to drive the screw in. Things can go sideways fast...pun intended!
