So I finally got everything I need to put together my Alaska Mill. She's set up with a Sachs Dolmar 153 powerhead, 25" Stihl roller nose bar, Woodland Pro rip chain (.404), with an aux bar end oiler, and 9' guide rails. I've only made a few cuts in some red oak from last fall with it but so far I am extremely happy with it!

I do have a quick question on the state of tune. I set the carb as close as I could to the fine example set here using a regular chain and it seems to be running great. 4 stroking with no load, but it cleans right up in the cut. However, after about three or four feet of milling on the last cut a few minutes ago I heard a quick burble or two then it cleared back up and 2 stroked. I killed it at the end of the cut and pulled the plug to check the color. Its very light tan, so that's means its pretty close to correct, right?
