Well all just wanted to write back and let you guys know how my removal went. Tree was a catalpa growing close to my house and had 2 leaders 1 was over the house and the other one was out over the yard. Worked on the one over the yard first to open up a hole for me to chuck the pieces from the one over the house out into the yard. Tried out the Blakes hitch on this one I like it and will continue to use it. Got alot of the little limbs on the ends with pole saw and and left the heavy wood for roping from a nearby black oak. First 2 pieces went well except my ground man who was my neighbor thought he would try to lower on the back swing and had a close call with the window. On the last piece had it all roped and ready to cut and did'nt allow enough room for rope stretch clipped my new gutter a bit on the way out and on the way back when my gound man did'nt let it run on the 1st swing out. Lessons learned take smaller pieces and remember the rope will stretch. The other side we just rigged and pull lline and pulled it out into the yard. Got the wife all worked up when that piece clipped the gutter she kept telling me to take smaller pieces but the Super bowl was getting closer and I got alittle antsy. Any thoughts on how to work off non vertical pieces of wood I am fairly comfortable on verticle work its the 45 degree stuff that kinda slows me down as I try to get past it. I did rig my climb line into the other limb to help but it was still a sketchy feeling with your flip rope at such a funky angle. Well I wish I could send pictures but have no acces to digital camera. Alls well that ends well. take care.
