Firewood box for the hearth

I built a firewood box for the hearth recently (in addition to our bigger one in the utility room by the back door) and thought others would enjoy some pics.

Box was built from oak boards from trees my dad cut down many years ago and had cut into lumber.

The top and bottom boards have a few saw marks, a couple of knots, and a natural, uncut curved front edge for a rustic look.

All done after putting finish on and shelves in place.

In the first picture I thought, Big deal, he built a bookshelf. But then I looked at the closeup detail pictures and I'm really impressed. That is super nice work, and perfect for what it's made to do. The rustic front edges make the piece. Very very nice.
