Can someone provide me with a breakdown on the "bang for the buck" regarding BTU's of various species of wood (for heating a house).
I know I really like fir, but it would be nice to know the whole spectrum from bad to good, including the amount of residual ash left behind.
(Pacific Northwest)
Fir, Birch, Alder, Arbutus, Oak, Pine......etc?
Thanks
