I usually wrap my thumb around the hanlde just a habit, I have seen a guy lose three fingers while starting to buck a log full throttle, it's not a pretty severing job. He was warned prior to the accident, but allready knew everything. So I understand where You are coming from.

good for you Dan, I own a tree service but do not burn wood, (I am not affiliated with any Church nor am I a believer in religion) but my good friend I grew up with has a mother whom is a minister from a church and I go through her to drop alot of wood to needy people. good deeds make the world go around, if not at least it helps it go!
