Anybody have any direction for me on my first mill? I want to get a bandsaw mill and it will be new. I'm in the tree service business and more and more clients are having me haul logs from their property to the only guy around here close to "reclaim" their wood. It's usually just a log or two but the guy charges anywhere from $90 to $175 to mill them. I should be doing that. Nobody has ever complained about the price. My budget is around $17,500.

WoodMizer and TimberKing are the two I've seen used the most. They are like the Ford and Chevy or maybe the Cadillac and Lincoln. I would have to say that which would be better for you is a matter of max log size and extra features that you want on the mill. You won't get a very big max log size (diameter or length) for your budget.
