Here are some trees I milled over the holiday weekend.

Cut 2 1/4" slabs from all trees this time around.

Some shots of the first Walnut Tree, this is one part of the log, the log was 14' long so we cut it into 7' sections.

Here is the other half of the log.

Here is another log, again we cut it in half since it was so long, but the logs were small enough that I milled them side by side, was just like milling one large log. Went pretty well, logs were heavy enough they didn't move around.

This is a Coffee Bean tree, was LARGE, you can see in the first picture I had to do some trimming for the mill carriage to pass by the log, it wasn't much, had to about the same on both sides.

After I had cut slabs of this coffee beam log I took the chain saw and ripped them in half, was faster than doing it with a circular saw. Still ended up with some wide boards after cutting them in half, still have 5 logs from that coffee bean tree to do, some just as big.

Thanks for looking

Really like the set-up you have there. Has there been a 'built topic' on it somewhere that I didn't see?

You must have a tractor or something to lift those logs onto the rig too....that Big'un must have weighed a few pounds!!

This rig is called a ProCut, it was built by another member here and I bought it from him, is much easier to use than the Alaskan, but I still have the Alaskan to use just in case the need arises or when I am near the ProCut. My FIL has a tractor that we used to drag the log next to the ramps of the mill, then the mill has removable winches that we use to get the log on the bed, so there is no real lifting, just dragging the logs around. Still have another 4 of about that size to do, then 3 smaller ones that came off that tree.

I did add the auxiliary gas tank and ran the yellow line to the gas cap, much easier than filling the chainsaw tank up every time, now I can just turn the valve on the the aux tank to let the gas flow.

I agree with the rest, awesome set up! I would love to see some more pics of the carriage. After seeing those pics there are some major wheels spinning in my head right now, i might have to have one of those one day.

Thanks for the info on the mill!

And if the opportunity arises, you can drive the mill to someone elses place and leave the mess there!!!
