340 board foot first run
Good job and thanks for the pics!
Rep sent.
Good work
How did you start the log and what sort of wood is that?
Thanks for sharing. Nice pics. I've had my mill completed for a month or two and have yet to do any milling for fun/myself. Hopefully I'll have something to post soon.
Everthing in the world hit me everytime I would try to start...Even this A.M.we got 4 inchs of rain and flooded the craw space but press on nothing was going to stop me today....(had a kidney stone last week)
This has nothing to do with milling but kidney stones run in my family also. I had one when I was 27 yrs. old. I was riding my motorcycle when it hit me. I got home as fast as I could and went into my back yard and crawled around on my hands and knees for a bit. Then I rolled around in the grass for a bit. Then I got up and went in for several hours before going to the E.R. I had no clue what it was but when I got to the E.R. the nurse took one look at me and said "Yep, you've got a kidney stone".
Walnut and maple, and just like you said a mini mill and 460! thanks Bob could not pull it off if it where not for you and others.......
Thanks smokin, what I meant was how did you make the first cut - did you use rails, a ladder, or a guide board?
Great pics, Smokinj.
How's your 880 running now ?
Great job and very nice looking place you have there!
Nice pics too.
That picture is why I don't like running the mini mill. It just seems like there is no good place to stand and get any kind of push on the saw. It is good for splitting a large log or making a log square but that is about it.
""We just use it for edging only"""...
This is a pic of the last time I used mine about 2 years ago with the 60" bar.
Good job smokinj. Those area some nice looking boards and you are going to start to feel the addiction.
Keep the pics coming
