analized situation. Put 361 on choke, decompression in. a few pulls POP. Warm, decompression valve in. few pulls VROOOOMMM. throddle up to run position. Man saw sounds good idling. Full throddle, WOW SOUNDS GOOD!! Like a harley. Started to cut about halfway down. Man this saw is eating it like nothing with the 3/8 RSC chain. Not even bogging down like my old 290 would have. Oh wait, its a professional saw, it has the POWER! Chips are coming out like mad, some are being thrown several feet behind me. Got halfway down and started a (V) cut. Got that made. Go to other side (bar not long enough to stay on just one side) and started to cut. wedge on top, hammer in, dont want any pinching. Lay saw down. hammer wedge in more. saw some more, wedge more, got first cut done. Good. Ate lunch. Back to work. Start cut at top, wedge in, hammer, cut, wedge, cut. Finally got done.

The results.

6 pieces of wood (25-30 inches- my bar didnt quite reach all the way through). Would of been a lot more, but most of tre was too dirty to burn. (been down over a year).

2 RSC chains went through.

2 tanks of gas (can you believe it)?

The only soreness I got was from moving logs a little bit and hammering wedges in. The saw DID NOT tire me out at all. The 290 would have in a hurry.

What I think of saw.

GREAT anti vide, very smooth runner, great on gas. The only thing better would be new 441.

A LOT of power.

Sounds GREAT, runs great.

Very easy to clean saw after each use.

Amazing air filter. was hardly dirty after.

Does not tire you out quick like 290/310/390.

Well worth the money.

last of the pics.

This was in far northern suburbs of Atlanta. And the tree was over 100 feet tall.

Just thought of this. You'll want to get some good files and a filing jig to file those chains and keep 'em sharp. There's a guide that mounts on the bar, or for a little more money, you can get one which clamps to the bench. My vote is for the bench version, 'cause it keeps filings out of the bar channel and the saw itself. I always carry two spare chains, freshly sharpened, with me. When the one on the saw starts to wear down, take a break and swap it out for a sharp one. Then you can file 'em at home and take your time.

I love my 361. I just got a 25" ES bar and chain as a B-day present from the wife. Not that I'll be cutting any 50" trees, but I like to have a longer bar so I can stand upright and not kill my back. You also never know when having a longer bar will come in handy.

I was contemplating a 28" bar with a 460R oiler upgrade, as I've heard many people do it successfully however, I don't think it's practical for me. If I need a bigger saw I'll look at the 460/660.

I did pick up the 3/4 wrap kit though, and am expecting it here shortly. After using my buddies 361 with wrap kit I was sold.
