I've been thinking for awhile about a slick dogging setup for my procut style CSM. I saw these long reach pipe clamps and thought that with the right design they might work pretty well. I've had to do precision cuts before like milling logs for ridge beams and getting everything set where you like it can be a real chore. Fast, solid and accurate is a tough combination to come by without a large budget.

I made this setup to bolt on rather than weld on because I want to be able to try other things if it flops. If there are any other users out there with good setups I'd like to see them.

The last part to add is a clamping bar that sits at 90 degrees to the deck so that I can square logs. It's a work in progress and we'll see how it turns out.

I think that will work quite well, good way to use the pipe clamps. Nice fab job also. BobL has a good one on here somewhere, con't think of the thread but maybe he will be on and post a pic of what he made. Good job!!!

Yep - I agree great fab job and good idea with the pipe clamp.

I presume you can rotate the pipe clamps to lower the jaw heights for different height cants.

My set up is shown in use here and here.

I reckon yours would be simpler and easier.

jimdad - Thanks for the positive feedback. I'm really eager to try them out. Hopefully I'll be posting some CSM action shots in the next week or two. I gotta get busy and try to catch up with you guys. I think the gun cabinet is a great idea by the way.

BobL - The clamps will rotate up, down and out of the way. They will also slide from side to side. My main concern at this point is that there will be room between the side rails of my CSM for this setup to operate well. It makes a pretty picture but we'll just have to see how it does in the field. Your input is always welcome.
