I was lucky enough to grow up in a town with a great forest museum. went for the first time in a few years and brought my camera, but unfortunately my batteries died pretty quick so i didn't get many pictures. its in duncan on vancouver island, b.c. and its pretty interesting. has lots of logging relics that have been donated on display. i didn't get pictures of all the good stuff but i just thought i'd share what i did get. some of the stuff has been restored to working condition and others have just been restored for appearance. in july and august they have the old steam train running and you can ride in the cars around the place but right now its just a little green diesel train pulling the cars.
the first picture is a bunkhouse. i think most of the stuff they use is from actual old stuff that got donated.
the second picture is a steam donkey.
the third is another steam donkey. i think i remember it saying this one was built in the 1890's.
the fourth is one of the steam trains they have there. they have a few, i'm not sure how many of the run, but at least one does because the use it in the peak season.
the fifth is a sharpening shop. there were only 3 old chainsaws in it. i remember when i was a kid there were tons of old chainsaws on display but i have no idea where they are now.
