A great little doc on a pro logging gang working in NZ (axmen with the toys but without the newbie drama). Will probably be only available for a week.

They look like they know what they are doing. The pines they are felling are generally 20-30 years old, they grow REALLY fast here.

Interesting use of a grapple rather than chokers on the skyline

Is this something you can link me to?

I'd love to cut a bit down there some time, radiatta, incredible volume per acre.

There is something to be said for plantation forestry, maybe it takes some of the creativity out of it, but your production must be killer!

It is a bugger the silly TVNZ will not allow international viewing as it was a really good insight to the NZ logging industry and is a good eye opener for me being 5 weeks away from the completion of my logging training and I am just waiting to hear back from an employer to arrange a medical assessment and pre employment drug test. what I could do for you fellas if I get a chance is to try and get a portion of video footage of the skid site/log landing where I do my practical training and assessments at, I will not be able to access the felling face without being authorised by the crew boss and also being accompanied by the tutor and the rule is if one student goes there we all have to go due to new rules put in place by the Training institute that I am studying with.
