Was cutting firewood on my lunch hour yesterday in the woods the shcool I work at owns. Took a walk deeper in and found what you see below. A 1957? Cadillac convertable. Pretty beat and picked over but still blue paint and chrome on there. I have no idea even if it was put there 40 years ago how the he77 it was driven in!

finding stuff like that is a regular day in the woods where i'm from. always interesting. to bad my old computer took a dump cause i had lots of pic on it. i know where there is a vehicle graveyard out in the woods where i'm from. big tree's growing all around the area and all the vehicle are 70's or older. there's no way to get the vehicles out without falling all the tree's around them. i know where there are at least 2 or 3 old beaters that me or my friends used to own :D all of which probably have more then $5000 worth of ammunition fired at them by now.

Those are beautiful.
I actually thought that generation was a low water mark. My father had a '55 that I think is an underrated classic, and the '59 is an icon, but the '57-'58 always seemed like an awkward transition. Still a shame none the less.

Also, forget how they got it that deep in the woods, how did they manage to back it up on that rock?

Yeah dude. I'll take a 57. From Google image search, the pictured one looks like a 58 to me. I think. Maybe.

On some County land near here, up on the side of a hill there is no way to get to, there is an old abandon VW Carmengia. I just imagine some kids stole it and went woodsen with it, leaving a heartbroken owner somewhere. It is also a convertible, but a lot less recognizable than UR car.

Pretty sure that's a '57 Eldorado Convertible.

I'm sure it is still worth 20x scrap value easy.

The chrome parts probably hold the most value, but the top of the fenders and quarter panels should also be worth something. I'd get a tractor and drag it out of there...just to be environmentally sound of course!;)

I see this kinda stuff pretty regular out here in Iowa. Most cars were drug out into the woods via a tractor when they died and the owners just shot them up after that. There is a 58 AMC Rambler Cross Country Wagon sitting in the woods near me.

Would have looked like this only blue when it was new.

I know this is common in rural areas, but what I find odd is dumping a Caddy convertible that might even be an Eldorado! Four door sedans and old station wagons are one thing, but there was always some value to a car like this.
