When I heard rope and wood chipper I thought that story was going a different direction. Hate to hear anyone getting hurt, much less killed.

the worst one i've seen was a lady get run over by a grader backing up
and knowing there's nothing i could do..
that one haunts me to this day

I have never seen more than car accidents in person, but have run into some gore running with Rescue Squad. I have seen a couple nasty kickback accidents and one feller tried to unjam his chipper with his arm, did not work out for him.

Here is something that happened in VA a few months ago. I only heard about it, did not happen around here.

I know those dang chippers fly. I bet it was all over in 1-2 seconds, I have seen the big chippers take out 6" limbs in that time. I did a google search on wood chipper accidents and could not believe how reports there were.

I went to high school with a fellow who was working a summer job on a construction crew that was preparing land to build a shopping mall. Somehow he fell and his torso was run over by a large wheel loader. The only thing that saved his life was the fact the dirt was not compacted. I really messed him up and he was in the hospital for a long period of time.
