Whoa! My old stomping grounds. Of course that was a couple decades or three back. Is that little hot dog place still open on the Stone Bridge road? She used to make a great foot long michigan. We used to hang at the Wells House and then head for Chestertown or Minerva. Things were different back the. Ti and GF were going strong and the roads were filler with log trucks running for IP and Finch. Folks could find work back then.

Stay safe!

That place on stone bridges and caves road is a cafe/ soft serve place now no dogs that I know of. The wells house has been restored and is a respectable hotel/resturant/cafe. Do you know george wescott or Dan Mckenzie?

There was a place just south of Warrensburg on 9n that had footlongs and they were the best. Toasted buttered rolls. Is that the place?

Thanks for the heads up Todd but I'll be hours away, sounds like a hit. Let us know how it goes.

Wescott sounds familiar, but my remember don;t work so good.

The Wells House "respectable"!!??? Back in the day it was a dive, but it was fun!

I think that place was called Hoolihans or Hanahans or something like that. That stretch between Lake George and W-burg was pretty busy back before I-87 (The Northway) went in. So was the stretch from W-burg to Chestertown (Hells Kitchen). Used to be lots of little diners, garages and bars out there. Heck, at one time North Creek had something like 5 barbers and 5 or 6 restaurants, a bunch of bars and 5 or 6 grocery concerns and several car dealers. All gone now.
