So I thought I would see what was up. I asked this guy who was giving away a bunch of towering monsters that where in his back yard and over his house.
I sent a message asking for pics which I don't know how to transfer the pics to here but if you tell me I will show them. They are pretty big with many targets, I don't know all the details... yet but stay tuned to " you pick a loon". The following is our conversation so far.

The Dan:

"Ahh, I can't see it because winzip has expired. I think I need a credit card and my wife has em. I will ask her later about it but is there another way you can send the pics because I usually get all pics anyway... I think. Anyway, let me know how it goes if someone else beats me there please, thanks." Ben

He sent the pics saying this:

" Hi Ben, I don't know anyone who pays for winzip.. I'm almost 100% sure they have a free version on there site. "
:)

"I'll send then as email's there's a guy from the pocono's but he want to come down next week.. ya would think they would have a lot of trees up there."

"Ben, these are really big trees, just wanted to give you a heads up."

"A few years ago some guy wanted to take then and make furniture ,,, although I think that would have been quite a feet. he move his tree stuff here about the same time he was arguing with his wife who wanted to go back to vermont and one day he was gone."

Well there ya go... its required to clean up and be insured to take this job of course. I have to figure out how to get these pics off of my email and over to here. You have to see this beech up against the house. He does say big but not really big to us but they are not small. I give most of them to be at least 2' dbh easy. Theonly drop zone is the house the the tree right next to it( that would mean there is no drop zone).
Stay tuned cause I guess, well I guess I am a troll.

And now this

The Dan:

"Did you say birch or beech?"

The guy:

I'm pretty sure they are beech .. I think.. there are 2 (birch/beech) and one walnut/ash .. sorry to be so vague.

I'll guess you are using hotmail or some other free web email.

Save the picture from your email to your computer. If you are using Hotmail, clicking on the attachment name at the top of the email will cause the website to ask you what you want to do with the file (save, open). In Gmail, it gives you options to View as HTML (a webpage), Open with a Google application (word, excel, etc.), or Download. You would click on download.

When downloading you need to know where the file is going. That can vary by browser. I'll assume you know where downloaded files are stored.

After files are on your machine you can view them.

Download MS Powertoy Pic Resizer if you are using Windows XP. I think it works on Vista but I don't now for sure. Install this little application.

Right click on the file, select "Resize Pictures". This will give you options to resize the pictures. This way you will be able to make the picture small enough that you can attach it to a post on here. This little tool will let you resize one or more pictures at a time.

Make a post on here, click on the little paperclip icon next to the white smiley face on the top of the message edit box. This will bring up a dialog box that will let you attach the pictures from your computer to your message here. Click on "Browse", select your photo, click on "Upload". Repeat the browse, select, upload until you have attached them all (5 max per post).

There has got to be a sticky on this somewhere.

Wowzers, a few trees like that are very valuable! You sure that you shouldn't be buying them from him? You know put a deposit down on them so nobody else takes them from you? I don't think it will be very fair to him for you to just cut these down and steal them for "free". If you did that how could you live with yourself Treemandan?

I,m a long way from there. But sounds like a great deal,If I culd just paypal him a deposit.
I would be willing to travel for great wood like that.I,m sure i could sell it to some fine craftsman in my area for a bundle.
After all its not everyday that you wake up with wood like that!
pleaae please keep me posted and hurry up and get the pics.
