I saw the posts earlier about all the new inventions of friction savers. I currently don't use one but do end up climbing a lot of pines for pruning so I need to start using something because the pitch has eaten on rope already. What is the recommended one to use. Better stated which ones do you guys prefer and why? I have seen the ringed style and then have seen the leather sheath style which is the easier to use in my situation. I want something that makes it easier to work on a split tail and also protects my rope? Send away with your ideas.
