I thought the 272 had a built in grommet a la 281, but I may be mistaken. The 272XP you can replace the fuel line with the OEM part 581 75 62-01 which is the pig tail type fuel line that replaces most of the Husqvarna factory lines.
All I have seen are stand alone line through a separate grommet on these- but it could be a year related or geographical difference thing that you have had ones with grommets built into the line.I thought the 272 had a built in grommet a la 281, but I may be mistaken.
Don't bother digging, I've never replaced a 61/272 fuel line and I based my statement off a hazy recollection of my ex-boss telling me that they had a built in grommet but his stories/facts changed by the minute. All I have seen are stand alone line through a separate grommet on these- but it could be a year related or geographical difference thing that you have had ones with grommets built into the line.
Any service manual I have for this model show the pigtail line.
Could also be over the years the separate grommet and line have been replaced with the line with grommet attached.
I will do some more investigating- but be easier if the OP pulls the line he has and discovers which system his particular saw is using?
I believe you are probably correct- for original factory lines and the pigtail line is a direct replacement and friction fit OD width for the tank hole- so does not require the grommet.Don't bother digging, I've never replaced a 61/272 fuel line and I based my statement off a hazy recollection of my ex-boss telling me that they had a built in grommet but his stories/facts changed by the minute.
