The Stringers store here in Kansas is closed, but I don't know about the company as a whole.

I don't know for certain about the current status of the company but new Brooks irons and replacement gaffs were available from several suppliers last year. I like mine.

To my knowledge Stringer went down the tubes a couple years back.
A customer of mine actually used to do design work for them, and told me last week they were no longer in business.
Now brooks i have no idea about.

Brooks was the designer/patent holder. My Brooks were made at Melling Forge in Michigan-marked "Brook's Patent". Stringer has been the maker of Brook's climbers for many years. I think that there was one other maker between Melling Forge and Stringer. The design is too good to die.
