I thought I'd post a couple of pics for anyone interested in my towable lift and mini skid steer setup for doing tree work. I wish I had a photo showing the mini skid moving the lift around but will have to post that when I get one taken. If you look closely at the bucket of the mt-50 bobcat, you will see a hole where I screw in a 2" ball to move the lift. This setup has worked pretty slick so far but I wouldn't want to move much more weight than the 5000# lift.
I've also made some modifications to my F350 dump truck in order to haul the mini skid - sorry, no photos yet. Rather than load the mini skid from the rear of the bed, I welded some brackets on each side of the front of the dump bed so I can load the mini skid from either side using HD ramps from my dump trailer and park the mini skid right next to the cab of the truck. This way, I can still load tools or debris in the back 8.5' of the 12' bed while hauling the mini skid behind the cab and aerial lift in tow.
One other benefit to this setup is that I can now also haul my vermeer sc252 grinder in the same manner if necessary.
