I purchased a Homelite at a garage sale 7 years ago for $50. It was used and in fair to good condition. It had a 20" bar, it felt like a tank, and had plenty of power. I could make out SXL on the side but the serial # was gone. It was purchased with the intent of clearing a lot for my house. Well, after clearing 2 lots, 5 truck loads of wood, father-in-law mistaking water for 50:1, and building a cabin with it; now it will not start cold soaked with 2 pulls now it takes 5 pulls. Just kidding on the last part, it will not start.
So, I was at Lowes today looking a new Husky's(I have a 394xp. Love it). I was looking at a 350 and a 55. athen I noticed 3 used Husky's sitting by the lawn and garden desk. I ask the socially inept sales associate what was wrong, and he said something like "dis one leak ol, dis one used, and we get credit." Needless to saw I will not purchase a saw from Lowes.
Anyway, I am looking for a reliable mid size saw that I can use hard and abuse. I have not been into saws for quite some time and I need some recommendations.

Sounds like you need a smaller pro quality saw like a 346XP, 353, 357XP or 359. If you have already got a 394, then a good smaller pro saw can do most tasks and then pull out the big saw when you need it. I m sure you'll get the usual buy a 372 line, but if you've got a 394, then you can likely do with a smaller pro saw, rather than the 372. Not to discourage buying a 372 as they are great saws, but you could likely get by with a smaller saw and never miss the 372 between the small saw and the 394.

I have a new 365 husky for sale for 400.00 This saw has never cut a peice of wood but it has been started and idled for one tank of fuel PM me if you would like it

hey MacDaddy, whats that shiny thing by the leather lace that looks like an old Jag gascap?

That is a vintage gas cap i got off ebay for a car Im building Have you ever seen the movie two lane blacktop I have a 55 chevy Im build a copy of that car I have all my parts now and this winter I will start building the car

If you're really planning on use and abuse, you'de be better off with a tough second hand number. 038 or a Mac. Get an old bone-rattler that you can treat mean.

fishhuntcutwood, I live in Anchorage, but I spend all my free time at my cabin in Moose Pass. I would live in Moose Pass, but there is not a Cosco or a Nordstroms for my wife. Bummer

MacDaddy, nice saw. I am looking for something a little smaller. I need to swamp out my property, because of all the beetle kill.
