Getting by with the dolmar

I was near buying something new as the old saw wouldn’t idle. I decided I’d take a screw driver and give her a tune. Surprised it settled down and started acting right. I’m just a homeowner but some stuff I’m cutting is big for the 14 inch bar. I bought a drive sprocket as it was pretty scared and a new bar. What are you guys suggesting for a good 18 inch or so saw these days?

What model is that? Sure looks like one I have but mine uses double D not screwdriver. Maybe the low is a screwdriver. Go to a 72dl NK .325 set up and get by.

Your talking a 20 inch bar on this saw? I don’t know if it has enough power
but I like the idea,

72 drive links is 20 inches in 3/8 full size however in Husky Dolamr and most others (not Stihl) 72 dl is 18" for .325. If that is a 420 or 421 350 351 you could run .325 chain. The NK bars have 10 tooth noses not 12 like 20 class Oregon bars.

If I go to a 18 inch NK bar what do I need? Just buy a package from Amazon ? Would I need a new sprocket or just the bar and chain?

I can't say for sure, but I think I can see "3/8LP" on your current bar. If that's the case, you'll need a new drive sprocket if you want to switch to .325.
