The Discovery Channel has a new show - Really Big Things.
Last week they showed Davey operating their world's largest tree spade. They picked up and transplanted a full grown tree (they said it was a 70' tree . . . not sure about that one).

Here's some info of the the tree spade on Davey's site . . . the spade is huge.

There's also a show where they visit a papermill.

Miss it this morning, I heard it was good . . . look for re-runs.

The show's host is kind of a buffoon, but they show some cool stuff.

There was another show on Discovery called Mega Machines. On it they showed a spade doing a transpalnt at a University in Texas, maybe A&M? Dont remember. But on that show they said they had the bggest spade in the WORLD! They said there were only 2 like it in the country and only 5 worldwide. I forget how bi it was but I remember the tree they moved on that show for the campus was some ridiculous size like 20-24"!! Ill seewhat I can find out about it.

Found it.....check them out they say they have moved trees up to 40", but it doesnt say whether it waswith a spade or not. They do however say their spade is capable of well beyond 18". They have some pics of Red oaks and other well over 60'.

It says on the site they have designed and patented the largest spades inthe country all the way up 168".
