i've got a new glide i'm messing around with and am curious what others have come up with as split tail attachment options. i tried 2 micro-pulleys on the bridge today, which probably isn't kosher, and only one loaded at a time - not much floating d action. then i tried one pulley with a biner to my VT and a steel double-locking clip next to it on the bridge - probably not kosher either but it worked better. anyone found a great solution to the one-pulley-one-biner dillemma?

How about this clipped in to the pulley, and the 2 biners clipped to it. You could use a short bow shackle (like the one nick posted) that is snag less. That would keep the slop down some.

I use 2 biners, with the tress cord clipped into the back of the bottom one, in series. Technically it is loading the biner 2 ways, but it is plenty close to the major axis for peace of mind in regards to the loading of the bottom biner.

Some people use 2 biners with no pulley on a web bridge, but you could do it on a rope bridge.

I think just the carabiner on the bridge is OK on any sliding saddle.

I've seen guys who yuse a Paw on a bridge, Most ly thise who double crotch frequently.

I don't think the new pulley will hold two biners. Actually, while I'm talking about it, the new pulley is a little different than I was originally told. I'll try to post a pic tomorrow. I will also mention the two biner idea.

I use a split tail with 2 biners on the bridge. It was suggested by Sherrill sales person. It is not as responsive as the pulley. Ya, wish there was a small pulley that 2 biners could connect to.

small pulley

Jkrueger, send a drawing to CMI and ask them if they can make one for you. Explain what you want to use it for and they might just make one up for you. It's worth a shot. If you don't ask, you'll never know and CMI will never know there is a need for something different for climbers. It doesn't have to be CMI, it could be any of the manufacturers. If you don't ask you'll never know.

new pulley

I sent a email request to CMI mfg. tech questions support. If I don't get any timely response I'll try other mfg and approaches.

new pulley

Well, no response from CMI yet.
There is the rescue pulley which allows for up to 3 biners.
Can't find the overal dem. for it anywhere. The sheave is larger which would be better ridding the bridge. It costs more and is made by Petzl.
Rescue P50 = $40

da pulley

OK, no word from any of the manufactures. Sherrill reported that they have a new pulley that might allow for 2 connections for a split tail. They said it would be in the NEW cat.

In the mean time I'm getting smoother with 2 biners connected directly to the bridge.
