The hole in the plastic tank assembly for the oil vent is apparently so worn that the vent "flops" out when running, and gets banged up by the vibrating engine crankcase which is hitting it.

Anyone know if there is a good glue for this situation, or other solution (hopefully short of having to buy a new tank ...)

Seems strange that this should happen ... is this a design failure that happens with some regularity by ordinary use of Dolmar-Makita saws ? (Having seen what I've seen with this saw, I'm paranoid enough to believe it was intentional!)

I have successfully used 2 part epoxy glue in situations like this. Turns to a hard plastic. You have to get the parts real clean though before applying, and I usually scuff the surfaces with 400 grit sandpaper so the epoxy has something to grab onto.

I have been using Seal All lately for instances like you describe. So far so good. Very resistant to gas and oil.
