I have a Jonsered 630 with scored piston. It looks like a nice saw, has a heated handle. I'm not cheap, just poor so when I started looking on ebay for a replacement, i noticed that most pistons were listed for both the 630 and the Husky 61. The cheapest one (the one I bought) was just listed as a Husky 61 replacement piston. I figured I'd give it a shot. It has only one ring and the 630 I have has 2. I also noticed that the window around the wrist pin is significantly smaller on the 61 piston, thus making the skirt wider. Does this window have an affect on your transfers? I installed the piston and can't get it to do anything more than pop...cause combustion in the chamber for one revolution or so. Before troubleshooting it further, I just wanted to know if it is worth my time to do so or if this specific 61 piston is not compatible with the cylinder I have. Any insight?

The late model 61 pistons can be used in the 630. The 2 thin ring piston (early) is interchangeable with the 1 thick ring piston (late).

You do need to have matching windows on the piston though.
