I second just buying some decent saw pants. Much better. From what I understand some States/Provinces require your pants or chaps to be certified for use there. If you can get them I highly recommend Can-Swe pants. Canadian company. Tough as hell, and about as comfortable as wearing saw pants can be. Not too bad for climbing. I tend to hike the legs up a few inches before strapping my spurs on so I can bend my knees.
I know 2 guys wearing Pfanner saw pants. Both really good climbers. I just don't feel like spending that kinda money.
