Good oil finish for the money

Wanted to try the Rubio monocoat but it’s very spendy for the amount you get. Got some boiled linseed oil but the guy at the wood working shop was acting like it can go bad from the air once opened. It did leave a darker water stained looking spots in a couple on some redwood when using some linseed oil I’ve had. I do like the original wood look just trying to bring out the color and grain in the wood. Not really looking to darken the wood up right now

If you have TIG/MIG Ar gas handy you can fill the air space in the bottle with it and it will not go off.

That Waterlox looks like good stuff - I dont think we can get it here.

Most oils will darken timber. We have a timber here called called jarrah and it comes in colours from pale pink to deep chocolate brown. When the chocolate is hit with an oil it turns almost black. This small carvers vice shows the sort of thing that can happen.
Both the jaws are made of jarrah and yes the screws are plumbing fittings.
