Can anyone recommend a good shop in north georgia, I'm in athens but dont mind driving.
I used to be in the tree business years ago in pennsylvania and ran all stihl, I just moved to a property with about 8 acres of dense woods so I bought a MS361, I love it so far but would like to free up a little more power, I understand the mufflers are very restrictive now.
I also pulled out the spark arrestor and found that it had broken in half and the screen is still inside.
The dealer I bought it from looked at me like I was crazy when I asked if they did any performance enhancement work on saws

Great site by the way, brings back great memories, love the husky VS stihl thing as well, I'll be taking my place on the orange and white side.

why restrict yourself to one brand? i am solid fans of husky, stihl, echo, old homelites.. old mccullochs.. the more brands you like the more saws you get to play with! i have my eye on trying out dolmar, solo, jonsered and a few others out there.. i like most any pro saw! even if it dont run, make it run! :)

Point taken, and I did play with some of the others, had a partner that ran pretty sweet, and a big old homelite that I kept around for lugging big stuff, but nothing ever had that rolex type smoothness and overall quality like the orange and white saws.
This one is new and super tight right now, but I can feel the potential, is there a guy anywhere that sells derestricted mufflers or do you suggest I tackle it myself?
I did just buy this nifty new cordless dremel ;)

all my muffler work is done by klickitatsacket hear on the forums, he has a forum in the other sponsors section, Washington Hot Saws. some some darn fine work! he also does it through ebay.. heres one of his links for muffler modding: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4337698680&category=79669

i do alot of business with him, and just keep going back for more :)
its WELL worth sending your muffler to washington state.. your saw will think its much bigger.. and so will you!

I will second Dedcow. Dean is one of the best builders in the country!! And has THE best customer service out there. He builds Stihls up in a manner that noone else ever has. Give him a call and send that thing out for a stage 2 mod for $250 you wont beat it!
