Had a good weekend
Pine#1 Rotten: 16" DBH
Pine#2 Dead 1 year: 20" DBH
Pecan Dead 1 year: 39" DBH
Dropped Pine#1 90* clockwise from the side lean. It mostly went into a million pieces.
Pine#2 was pulled down opposite of the side lean with the truck. Used the 4wheeler to pull it out of the woods. While bucking, my brand new (overpriced $35) STIHL 33RS located a steel plant hanger :msp_scared:. It rocked it pretty good so I stopped for the day.
Sunday morning I got the chain looking like new again and tackled the Pecan. My wife's uncle and his sons topped the tree 6 weeks ago and burned most of it. They managed to damage the shop's roof and took out a section of fence. They've been metal fabricators their entire lifes... I politely advised them to stay away from chainsaws and keep their day job. I'm taking the rest to split/stack for ~ year. My dad and I use it in the smoke box.
It's definitely some good looking wood! This is 26" at the widest part. I'd like to use several 4"-6" slab to make tables. I have no experience in this, so all input is appreciated.
Not all homeowner grade saws get used, but some do!
Sunday I stopped around 4pm, got home about 5pm. I walk in the door and smelled food. My wife was making salsa, melting velveeta, making wing sauce and had wings in the oven (wings and ribs are my favorite). Needless to say, I was DEFINITELY a happy camper.
